The word Chipinque comes from Nahuatl, an indigenous language of Mexico. It is believed that the name is derived from the words “Chipin” and “Tepetl” “Chipin” can mean to drip and “tepetl” means hill or mountain, the words together can be interpreted as “dripping hill”
